Hubble Space Telescope Gallery

About the Hubble image gallery

This gallery collects images from the ESA/Hubble archive (mostly Hubble Space Telescope pictures, plus a few ground-based and artist's-impression images), organized by what they show: galaxies, nebulae, stars, star clusters, solar system, black holes, exoplanets. Each image comes with its official ESA/Hubble caption, observation date and instrument, and a lightbox viewer lets you look at any picture in detail.

Images and captions are sourced from the ESA/Hubble archive. Teachers can use it as a starting point for astronomy lessons; self-learners can browse by category to compare galaxies, nebulae and star clusters.
